Aruna's dream student - just one of our success stories
DING Mingshuang, or Ming as she preferred to be called, graduated from Bradford College in December 2005.
"She was in my first batch of FSP classes; I still remember the conversation I had with her then about what she wanted to study in uni and she replied, without hesitation, that she wanted to be a midwife because her mother was one and she had always dreamt of following in her mother's footsteps".
Ming went on to complete a degree in midwifery and was a successful midwife for some time. Soon however, she realised that her passion was to teach; but not just any subject, of course it had to be midwifery. So, Ming began to study a Master in Nursing and graduated at the end of March.
"It was at this point that we met up again and I asked if she would talk to my class about life in uni. I was thrilled to be invited to her graduation last week! It was then that she told me that her application to pursue a doctorate in midwifery had been accepted. She was also thrilled to share another piece of good news, that she is expecting her first child due in October. She has recently moved to Brisbane where her husband has bought a restaurant. I wish Ming well."
